Judge Tymkovich will reflect on his multi-decade career in the law, including his experiences as a student at the University of Colorado Law School, as the Solicitor General for the State of Colorado, and as Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Location: ACAD 201. Limit to ACAD 201 capacity, which is 16 individuals. Open only to Political Science Pre-Law students. Lunch will be provided.

Bio

Judge Timothy Tymkovich, of Denver, Colorado, was nominated to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals by President George W. Bush and confirmed in April 2003.  Since he has been on the court, he has served as Chief Circuit Judge, 2015-22; Chair of the US Judicial Conference’s Committee on Judicial Resources, 2011-15; the Judicial Conference Workplace Conduct Working Group; and Cybersecurity Task Force.  Since 2008 he has been an adjunct professor of law at the University of Colorado School of Law, teaching Election Law.  He is a member of the Doyle Inn of Court, the American Law Institute, and the International Society of Barristers.  Judge Tymkovich also represented the United States in four judicial education programs in Ukraine prior to the Russian invasion in 2022.
